It's been awhile since I've posted any artwork to my blog. I've been busy moving to a new studio and finally got everything moved in this past week. As you can immagine, there are boxes everywhere & everything is a total wreck. No energy to paint right now, but hopefully that will change as soon as I get my studio back to normal.
Thanks for checking in with me.

These 3 paintings were painted at the en' plein air workshop I took in the spring. The 2 Mississippi scenes were painted outdoors and the Italian scene was painted from a photo that I took while in Italy last fall.
At this workshop we worked a lot on painting from your own photographs and only had one day to paint outdoors. I do quite a lot of my studio painting from photos I take or from my small plein air paintings. There is no better way to get your true colors than to view it live.
I am scheduled to take another workshop in October from a different artist & am anxiously awaiting new things to learn and apply to my paintings.

These paintings were painted at different locations around Memphis this past spring and summer. After taking a plein air workshop in the spring, I came back all fired up to try & paint outdoors as often as I could. This went great until it started getting hot & all my painting buddies started falling off and couldn't stand the heat.
Now that fall is approaching we hope to get back to my first love. En' plein air painting. There is nothing like to and you come away with all kinds of things in your works.
